Feds' War on Marijuana Hits Montana
MISSOULA, MT — On November 16, U.S. Attorney Michael Cotter for the District of Montana ordered the execution of twelve criminal search warrants for marijuana in locations in Whitefish, Somers, Missoula, and Kalispell.According to a press release from Mr. Cotter’s office, the warrants were prompted after the “drug trafficking” actions of the Montana-based “criminal enterprise” had been under investigation for one year.

In Missoula, four civil seizure warrants for financial institutions pursuing an undisclosed amount of money were also executed.

Although the press release did not specifically refer to medical marijuana by name, it did confirm that citizens who were in “clear and unambiguous compliance with state law” were not part of the investigation.
