NBA: NY Knicks' Baron Davis pretends to Hit Joint on TV after Jump Shot

NEW YORK, NY — New York Knicks’ guard Baron Davis returned to the lineup on Monday night at Madison Square Garden, playing ten minutes in the Knicks’ loss to the Nets, and hitting just one shot. It was after hitting that shot – a 3 point jump shot, his first of the season – that Davis was seen on TV pretending to smoke a joint.

He hit a J after hitting a J, get it?

But on Tuesday, Davis posted to Twitter disputing reports that he was pretending to smoke a joint.  “To clear up rumors,” Davis tweeted, “I was kissing my hands after I shot the 3 last nite. Kissing the 3 was all I was doing. Stop fishing and hating plz.”

In the NBA, it has become popular for players to celebrate hitting a 3-pointer by holding up three fingers on one hand while using the other two to make a circle, similar to the gesture that Davis made.
